Usually, students undertake the programme mainly in the workplace (or via assignments in their own time); training can also take place at college. Apprenticeships are paid a salary or training allowance by their employer and can study towards a level 2 or level 3 National Vocational Qualification (NVQ). Apprenticeships can also study Key Skills and the Technical Certificate.
