Apprenticeships in Using I.T.
Who is this qualification for?
The I.T. User Apprenticeship is ideal for anybody using IT in all areas of the working environment, for example:

Accounts
-
Administration
-
Design and Printing
-
Engineering
-
Management
-
Secretarial
This list is not exhaustive and illustrates the breadth of the qualification.
An Apprenticeship is ideal for people who do not want to pursue a general education route but who are still keen to keep learning as they work. It is a great way of getting hands-on experience whilst also achieving a nationally recognised qualification.There are two levels to this qualification: Apprenticeship at Level 2 and the Advanced Apprenticeship at Level 3.
It is recommended that people becoming an Apprentice start at Level 2 and then progress to Level 3.
Apprenticeships
To complete the Apprenticeship framework the learner will achieve the following elements:

Diploma for I.T. users (ITQ) - Level 2 (38 Credits)

Key Skills qualifications in Communication and Application of Numbers at Level 1 or Functional Maths - Level 1 and Functional English - Level 1
-
ERR - Employment Rights & Responsibilities
Typically this qualification should be completed within 12 months.
Advanced Apprenticeships
To complete the Advanced Apprenticeship framework the young person will achieve the following qualifications:

Diploma for I.T. users (ITQ) - Level 3 (39 Credits)

Key skills qualifications in Communication and Application of Numbers at level 2 or Functional Maths - Level 2 and Functional English - Level 2

ERR - Employment Rights & Responsibilities
Typically this qualification should be completed within 18 - 24 months.
Further Details
Apprenticeships are for people who are keen for a career, whilst also undertaking vocational qualifications towards that chosen career. Usually, students undertake the programme mainly in the workplace (or via assignments in their own time); training can also take place at Acton Training Centre. Apprentices are paid a salary or training allowance by their employer and can study towards a Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma qualification.
What does it cost?
The Apprenticeship programme is free to qualifying applicants.
What do apprentices earn?
Apprenticeship salaries must always comply with the National Minimum Wage regulations. The amounts can vary, depending upon age, job role, employers commitments and Apprentices’ own individual family circumstances.
