Apprenticeship in Bookkeping (Level 2 & 3)

 

Who is the qualification for?

 The International Association of Bookkeepers (IAB) Apprenticeships in Bookkeeping are ideal for anybody who is already employed in bookkeeping or in an allied role and who wishes to develop a firm foundation of knowledge and skills to perform advanced routine and non-routine tasks. They can also be used by those candidates who have some practical knowledge and skills and wish to develop these and gain accredited competence qualifications in this subject.

The Advanced Apprenticeships are also suitable for apprentices who may wish to progress to a higher level of study and qualifications in accounting and related subjects.

Typically, the Intermediate Level should be completed within 6 – 9 months and the Advanced Level should be completed within 9 - 12 months.

 

Apprenticeship Frameworks

In completing the Intermediate Apprenticeship the learner will achieve the following qualifications:

  • QCF Certificate in Bookkeeping (Level 2)
  • Functional Skills in ICT, Maths and English Level 1
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)

 

In completing the Advanced Apprenticeship the learner will achieve the following qualifications:

  • QCF Certificate in Bookkeeping (Level 3)
  • Functional Skills in ICT, Maths and English Level 2
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)

 

Functional Skills Exemptions

You are entitled to Functional Skills exemptions if you have the following qualifications.

Qualification structure

To complete the Intermediate Apprenticeship, all learners will need to complete the 10 mandatory units for the Intermediate Apprenticeship and the 5 additional units. To achieve the Advanced Apprenticeship, learners will have to complete 13 mandatory units and 1 additional unit.
