Aprenticeship in Business & Administration (Level 2 & 3)

 

Who is the qualification for?

The Business and Administration Apprenticeships are ideal for anybody in all areas of the Business and/or Administration working environment, for example:

 

• Accounts                               • Administration                                • Management

• Design and Printing               • Education and training                      • Secretarial

• Engineering                           • Manufacturing

 

The Apprenticeship is ideal for people who do not want to pursue a general education route but who are still keen to keep learning as they work. They are a great way of earning and gaining workplace experience whilst also achieving nationally-recognised qualifications.

There are two levels of this qualification: Intermediate Apprenticeship at Level 2 and Advanced Apprenticeship at Level 3. It is recommended that people becoming an Apprentice start at Level 2 and then progress to Level 3.

 

Apprenticeship Framework & Qualifications

 

In completing the Intermediate Apprenticeship the learner will achieve the following qualifications:

 

  • QCF NVQ Certificate in Business and Administration (QCF L2)
  • QCF Certificate in Principles of Business and Administration (QCF L2)
  • Functional skills in ICT L1, Functional Maths and English L1 
  • Employment Rights & Responsibilities       

 

In completing L3 Apprenticeship the learner will achieve the following qualifications:

 

  • QCF NVQ Certificate in Business and Administration (QCF L3)
  • QCF Certificate in Principles of Business and Administration ( QCF L3)
  • Functional skills in ICT L2, Functional Maths and English L2
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities.

Exemptions: you are entitled to functional skills exemptions if you have the following qualifications

 

      From               If you have already achieved

      FS Maths           Either GCSE grade C or above or Key skills qualification in AoN (min   L1)

      FS English         Either GCSE grade C or above or Key skills qualification in Literacy (min L1)

      FS ICT              Key skills qualification in ICT (min L2)

 


Award in Business and Administration – ONLY Level 2

 

The student must complete a minimum of 9 credits, of which 6 credits must be selected from L2 units:

 

  • 5 credits must be completed from Group A Mandatory units
  • A minimum of 4 credits from Group B Optional Units.   */   *  *

Level 2:

Students must complete a minimum of 21 credits, of which 14 credits must be selected from level 2 units:

 

  • 9 credits must be completed from Mandatory units
  • A minimum of 7 credits must come from Group B optional units */   *  *
  • A minimum of 5 further credits from Group B OR  Group C of the optional units */   *  *

 

Level 3:

Students must complete a minimum of 30 credits, of which 20 credits must be selected from level 3 units:

 

  • 13 credits must be completed from Mandatory units
  • A minimum of 11 credits must come from Group B optional units */   *  *
  • A minimum of 6 further credits from Group B optional units OR Group C optional units */   *  *

Level 2:

Students must complete a minimum of 37 credits, of which 24 must be selected from units at level 2:

 

  • 9 Credits must be completed from Mandatory units
  • A minimum of 17 credits must come from  Group B optional units */   *  *
  • A minimum of further 11 credits from Group B OR Group C of the optional units */   *  *

 

Level 3:

Student must complete a minimum of 40 credits, of which 27 must be selected from units at level 3:

 

  • 13 Credits must be completed from  Mandatory units
  • A minimum of 14 credits must come from  Group B optional units */   *  *
  • A minimum of further 13 credits from Group B OR Group C of the optional units */   *  *
